AMAZON ACCOUNTING
Automate your Amazon accounting
Amazon settles in reports, not invoices. KudTax fetches orders, fees, refunds and payouts automatically, matches them to each other and turns them into a posting-ready DATEV export.
A batched payout becomes traceable bookkeeping again.

Why an Amazon payout never equals revenue
Every two weeks a number lands in your account. It is neither your revenue nor your profit.
Referral fees, FBA fees, storage, advertising and refunds have been deducted from gross revenue, and Amazon may additionally withhold amounts as a reserve. Book that one number and you have booked past the actual business.
Which part was revenue, which was fee, and which order does which refund belong to?
The answer is in the reports, not on the bank statement — and it can be produced automatically.
What KudTax pulls from Amazon
Four data streams that belong together and live in different reports.
Orders
Gross revenue, tax rate, destination country and shipping per line — the basis for VAT.
Fees
Referral fee, FBA fulfilment, storage and advertising, matched to the order they belong to.
Refunds
Returns and partial refunds including the proportional fee correction, even when they arrive weeks later.
Payouts
The actual transfer, posted against a clearing account rather than as revenue.
The FBA traps
If you use Pan-EU or CEE, you allow Amazon to move stock between countries. No sale takes place and no money moves — it is still a taxable event that can trigger a registration obligation in the destination country. It never appears in a payout.
KudTax evaluates the inventory movement reports separately from the settlement reports, so these movements surface before they become expensive retroactively.
VAT and OSS
Four fields determine VAT: country of origin, destination country, tax rate and time of supply — and they exist only in the order data. Sales beyond the EU threshold run through OSS; others fall under marketplace liability, where Amazon becomes the party liable for the tax.
KudTax separates these cases from the order data and prepares them for the OSS return.
The DATEV export
What comes out is a posting batch the firm can import without questions: the right accounts, correct tax keys, a document link per entry and a clearing account that comes to zero.
If a balance remains, that is not cosmetic — it points at an event still unallocated, usually a withheld reserve.
Vendor Central
Selling to Amazon rather than through the marketplace means purchase orders, credit notes, allowances and co-op fees instead of settlement reports. That case is supported too.
