Amazon + KudTax
Connect your Amazon seller account with KudTax to automatically reconcile platform fees, marketplace commissions, payouts and VAT rates across all EU countries into DATEV-ready entries.
Amazon is the biggest channel for most German online sellers, and the one with the messiest numbers. Between an order and a payout sit FBA fees, advertising costs, storage charges, refunds and reserves, all of which Amazon nets into a single figure. Book only that figure and every expense line and every VAT rate disappears with it. KudTax reads the settlement line by line and ties each entry back to the order it came from.

What to watch for with Amazon
The payout is not revenue
Amazon transfers a net amount in which sales, fees, refunds and reserves have already been offset against one another. Booking that amount as revenue leaves every expense line out of the P&L and computes VAT on the wrong base. Sales and fees belong in separate gross entries.
Settlement periods cut across the month
Amazon settles every fourteen days, with no regard for the calendar month, so a settlement period routinely straddles a month end. Assigning the whole report to one month shifts revenue across the period boundary, and both the VAT return and the year-end accounts will show it.
Several marketplaces, several VAT rates
Selling through Amazon Pan-EU creates dispatches from several warehouse countries. Movements between Amazon warehouses are not sales but do trigger reporting duties, and the settlement report alone does not show which country a delivery left from — that needs the order data alongside it.
